Congratulations!
I would like to congratulate everyone on their new foals this year. It sounds like our region did VERY well in picking some great stallions to breed to last year. With Region 17 being here next year we should have a lot of great competition going into 2009. Go BC Go! |

WA Shamim
EF KINGSTON X KISS A DREAM
2004 Bay Filly
Shamim came out to the shows as a yearling filly with roar, by picking up several championships. She has a long neck with a pencil thin throatlatch, like her dam and her head is extremely typey like her sire EF Kingston. She stayed at home until she was a 3 yr old and was brought back to the show ring again sparingly. This time she was awarded a Championship at the Classic All Arabians show and went on to a Top V in the Western Canadian Breeders Show. All of this was done in one day. Shamim was then taken home and bred to "Fausto", a magnificent Champion Stallion both in North America and Brazil, who stands at Midwest Training Center. She is now checked in foal and we are all awaiting her new arrival sometime in March.

Exciting Announcement:
We would like to announce that WA Shamim after 366 VERY long days and nights, finally gave birth to a gorgeous chestnut colt. His barn name is Dexter and his registered name will be WA Timeless, pending cahr approval. He was definetely worth the wait. *Fausto is proving himself to be quite the sire.
We have also bred WA Shamim to "Bugatti" and hope that at least one of our mares will honour us with a filly by this magnicent stallion next year.

WA Cherish The Dream
THEE DESPERADO X THE DREAMSPINNER
2005 Bay Mare
Cherish, is our little miracle girl. She is the last foal born to one of the greatest mares to grace North America. Of course that is our opinion, here at Westwynd Arabians. The Dreamspinner, who is an Aristocrat mare and Dam to such greats like Magic Dream, Satine, and EF Kingston gave the Arabian World one last gift. Cherish The Dream - Small and Dismature and barely bigger than our golden retriever. There she was.......small and as delicate as a porcelain doll. That's what she reminded all of us of. Perfect in every way except that she was the tiniest foal I had ever seen. After a couple of weeks of her trying to die on us, she finally gave in and decided that life was much more rewarding. She thrived on her mother's rich milk and the love of so many people like Jo-Anne Campone, Brenda Deidiger, Dr. John and of course us. Life was good. We were thankful Cherish mad it and thank you that Jo-Anne had let us lease The Dreamspinner for that one last foal. Things were good until one night when Jo-Anne was bringing the horses in she realized that Cherish was only using 3 legs. We found out soon enough, she had broken her small delicate back leg. At first I thought we would have to put her down, but God was good to us that day and Cherish had the much needed surgery to repair her leg. We can finally look back and Cherish is about to make her debut at Vegas next year. She is whole again. She still looks like a porcelain doll but tougher now. We love Cherish with all of our heart and one day she too will walk in her mother's footsteps and become a Mother too.
Thank you to everyone for helping this precious gift of life to live. I know in my heart that she will NEVER be a disappointment to anyone. Even if she were to be a pet in my back yard....but she will be more.......she coming out........she's coming soon....watch for the little filly that could.

Update:
Although this was to be WA Cherish The Dream's big year to show we have decided to breed her in stead. She has been bred to "Bugatti" A Versache son that we fell in love with when we first saw him as a yearling in Scottsdale.

Kiss A Dream
PRINCE OF DREAMS X MISS FIRE CAT
1999 Chestnut Mare
Kiss is a 1999 beautiful chestnut mare with both a flaxen mane and tail. True to her Grandparents GH Venture and JA Magnificat, she has that lovely floating action that we all love to see in our horses. She has a long snakey neck that she has passed on to her two kids, a filly who is by EF Kingston and a colt by Gazal Al Shaqab. Kiss has been left open so that she can be bred to our own Champion colt WA Raekwon (barn name Seth) for 2009.

Katya V
TRADITIO X KASACJA by *BANDOS
1983 Bay Mare
On lease from ES Arabians. Thank you to Nikki Muller. Katya is an oldie but goodie. We feel privileged to have Katya in our herd. We are now talking with Nikki to arrange for this grand old girl to make her permanent home here with us at Westwynd Arabians. It just wouldn't be the same here without her. It is such a pleasure to watch her move with such gracefulness and high stepping action even at her age. She is dam to Desperado Kid V and Keystone Bey V among other great moving horses. She has a 3 month old 50/50 pinto filly at her side by A Space Odyssey. Watching them both move together as one, is an experience that only true horse lovers can enjoy. Katya can bring a tear to your eye by just watching her. We have a dream with her to be able to breed her one last time at the very beginning of the year. We are anticipating and wishing on that great horse star in the sky that we will be able to put one last foal on this earth out of our beloved Katya and our boy that we are so proud of, WA Raekwon. We will keep you posted.
